Start secure. Stay in control.
A hardware wallet is the safest way to store and manage cryptocurrency. Your Trezor device keeps private keys offline while Trezor Suite provides a clean interface to manage accounts, sign transactions, swap assets and stake supported tokens. This landing page guides you through a clear, practical setup workflow so you can begin using your device safely in minutes.
1. Download from the official site
Always download Trezor Suite from trezor.io/start. Choose the correct installer for Windows, macOS, or Linux. Avoid attachments or links from unknown sources to prevent fake copies and malware.
2. Connect & verify firmware
Use the supplied USB cable to connect your Trezor. Suite will detect the device and guide you through installing the official firmware. Verify the firmware fingerprint shown on the device before approving the update.
3. Create your recovery seed
Follow the on-screen prompts to generate the recovery phrase (12 or 24 words). Write the words down exactly and store them offline in a secure location. Do not photograph or copy them to a computer or cloud service.
4. Lock with PIN and optional passphrase
Set a strong device PIN to prevent unauthorized use. Optionally enable a passphrase to create a hidden wallet that provides an additional layer of protection and plausible deniability.
On-device signing
All cryptographic signing happens inside the Trezor hardware. Private keys never leave the device, so even if your computer is compromised you remain protected.
Manage many coins
Trezor Suite supports Bitcoin, Ethereum, Cardano, Solana and thousands of tokens. Manage multiple accounts and address types from a single device and interface.
Privacy & custom backends
Optional Tor integration, discreet mode, and full-node/back-end configuration let you reduce metadata leakage and increase trust by connecting to your own infrastructure.
Security checklist
- Never enter or store your recovery seed on a phone, photo library, or cloud drive.
- Verify receiving addresses and transaction details on your Trezor device before approving.
- Use a strong PIN and consider a passphrase for extra security.
- Keep firmware and Trezor Suite up to date to benefit from security improvements.
- Consider a metal backup for long-term protection against fire and water damage.
